Entrepreneurs! Have an Ugly Past? See Who Else Does

I’m convinced that about half of what separates the successful entrepreneurs from the non-successful ones is pure perseverance. Tweet by EntrepreneurQ

Forgiveness is a vital key for taking our future. If you cannot forgive yourself for the failures of yesterday and even of the present moment, you will continue to live in emotional pains that could paralyze you from taking actions of securing your future. If you cannot forgive those who failed you in the past, you cannot take your future. Unforgiving causes bitterness and fear.

Everyday is a new day. Let go of yesterday’s worries. No matter what you do, you cannot change what happened yesterday; so why harm yourself more by habouring unforgiving and worries? Instead spend time to build a better future. Even if you have failed yourself, let it go. Even if you have disappointed yourself, face the challenge of the present moment because complaining over your past will never change anything. “The future belongs to those who can leave the shadows of yesterday and the ashes of the past and begin a new day”.- Anonymous.

Welcome every new day as opportunity to start something new and better. Embrace it with hope because every new day is filled with great possibilities. Remember you have a new day to actualize your dream. There’s no future without dream. Your dream is that deepest desire or drive in your mind. You have to build your future on your dreams. The future you wish for yourself is the dream you carry in your mind. You have to fulfill it. Your dream is for you to pursue.

In Kenneth King’s book, “Take up the Challenge”, he writes; “You may say, but you have an ugly past, don’t you? Of course, I do. In fact, a great volume of it! That is why it’s called past. It means it has come and passed. It’s gone into my history. Show me a man that has no past, and I will show you a man that has never existed. Everybody has a past. It is either pleasant, or ugly. In most cases, our past is very ugly and bitter yet, we don’t have to be trapped by it. Do you know why? It is because we can’t change our past anymore, we no longer have control over our past. Every ugly past has gone into the trash can of our history. But the good news is, we still have a grip on our today which eventually determines our tomorrow”.

Entrepreneurs, Are you now convinced? Do you now know that everybody have a past? Therefore, do not allow your past to cancel your future. Stop being hunted by the ghost of your past. Learn to always put the past behind you. Everyone started somewhere, somehow, and someday with a number of funny experience. Rick Warren drives home this point in his book, “The Purpose Driven Life”. He said; “We are products of the past, but we don’t have to be prisoners of it”.

You past are in the tomb, while your future is in the womb. The future is what you project it to be. Your future does not depend on your condition but on the character of your mind. It doesn’t depend on the amount in your bank account; it depends on your brain and mental capacities. It is not where you are coming from that matters, it is where you are going that counts.

However, lessons can be learnt from the past. The failures of the past can help re-shape the future. Experience they say is the best teacher. Those who never learn from failures of the past will always repeat them in the future. One of the greatest powers we (entrepreneurs) have is the power of the mind. And how we control it, matters most. Do not allow the past events to influence your mind; rather let your mind influence the past. The past is subject to you and the best way to control the past is to live your best life free of unforgiving and worries.
