Top 5 Early Morning Habits of Successful Entrepreneurs
For the past 33 years, I have looked in the mirror every morning and asked myself: ‘If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?’ And whenever the answer has been ‘no’ for too many days in a row, I know I need to change something. — Steve Jobs
Reading about the daily lives and routines of these successful entrepreneurs gives us an insight to how they are able to accomplish so much in their lives. Your morning affects your entire day. What you do or don’t do each day will influence how productive you are, how energetic you feel, what you accomplish and, ultimately, how successful you are as an entrepreneur.
The key to a productive day is to start the morning off right. Your initial actions lay the foundation for mediocre or extraordinary results. Greatness doesn’t happen by accident. It stands on the three legs of planning, preparation and execution. And your morning habits plays a major role towards its fruition and success.
Meditation is a powerful way to prepare your mind for the day, helping you fight the stress that will invariably come at some point during the day. Meditation isn’t complicated and you don’t have to learn any mantras if you don’t want to. Meditation in its most basic form is simply breathing: free-flowing, deliberate and concentrated breathing.
According to Nichole Elizabeth DeMer, “I meditate every morning, whether through doing yoga, reading chakra affirmations, or listening to Tibetan singing bowls. Meditation helps to keep my mind clear so that I can focus.”
Focus on your priorities
Ensure to do the major things that matters first. Set your target to doing the important things before the not very necessary ones. “Every morning, before doing anything, I open the Notes app on my phone, where I’ve written down the mission for my business and life. I read it aloud to myself. I then take a few minutes to quietly think about why this matters to me, the progress I’ve made and the things I’m grateful for. I then move on to reviewing the top one to three things I aim to accomplish that day.” — Danny Halarewich, founder and CEO at LemonStand
Most of the time many of us spend a lot of our day sitting down. That’s why the morning is a great time to get in your daily workout. Your willpower is most potent in the morning, so you have a better chance of following through on your workout commitments. Starting the day with a workout won’t deplete your energy. Instead, it will give you more energy, which will improve your focus, and help you to be more productive.
Eat healthy breakfast
On Health.com, Amanda MacMillan writes: “the next time you rush out the door in the morning without something to eat, consider this: Skipping breakfast can set you up for overeating later in the day. A healthy a.m. meal, on the other hand, can give you energy, satisfy your appetite, and set the stage for smart decisions all day long.”
Karen Reed in a blog post on Positive Health Wellness, wrote; “By eating well, we reduce cravings and feel much fuller throughout the day. High protein is one of the best ways to start the day. Protein takes the time to break down in the body, so we feel fuller sooner, and we’re left feeling full throughout the morning. There’s a lower chance of eating snacks throughout the day, which means we consume fewer calories. Our bodies have a calorie deficit, which means we have to burn the excess calories that have been stored in the past.”
Now you can go and make the day fruitful and successful. Go and kick some ass!!!
