Entrepreneurial Lessons I Learnt from Donald Trump Presidential Campaign

Love him, hate him, chastise him or make fun of him, the 45th President of the United States of America, Donald Trump can sometimes say things extremely powerful, provoking and harsh, but he knows what he say. A tweet from the Donald make news. He is not pressured by anxiety or anger but determination to win and to get the truth out to everyone. Whatever he set his mind on, winning is the end result. Recall that during his campaign he made a statement saying; “if I don’t win, I’ll consider this a total and complete waste of time”

Donald Trump is one of the great business leader and entrepreneur in America prior to his presidential race. He never set out to do something with the mindset of emerging as a second place person. He always go for the win and most of the time, that goes pretty well for him. knows the right ingredient of negotiating and that has been the root of his business and life success.

Take a cue from the Donald with these steps and improve on your personality, influence and productivity.

Winning is everything

Many of the youths of this generation never venture into anything with the hope of winning or topping the ladder at whatever they set out to do, instead they want to do trial and error. They go with the mindset of being a participant. Trump always aims for the win and so do I. He never does anything by just being a participant. In fact, he is the lead person and every other person is a participant. That is the entrepreneurs’ mindset.

In an article published recently by Jonathan Long, founder and CEO of market Domination media, he wrote: “I remember an incident back when my dad was the president of our Local Little League. A parent was livid that the first place championship trophies my team received were significantly larger than the ones awarded to the other teams, and my dad? He just smiled and said, welcome to the real world”. Always go for the win. That is the kind of attitude and mindset entrepreneurs possess.

Your product or service will never appeal to everyone

Donald Trump understands that not everything he says or does appeal to everybody but he does and says them all the same and that is because he has a target audience. Nobody should put words into your mouth or make you not to say whatever you chose to say. But do not overdo it. Discretion is the backbone of entrepreneurs.

Be Confident

In my former article on; “Young Entrepreneurial Traits to Landing Angel Investors” I explained in details on confidence as one of the traits of entrepreneurs. You should check it out before you continue further.

Let me also state here that there’s a great difference between confidence and pride. Confidence is self-assurance and pride is a disdainful behavior. Entrepreneurs are confident people. When you ooze confident and start every day knowing that you will prevail, you are going to win far more than you lose. Master the mental game of entrepreneurship and over flow with confidence to get the job done quickly and beautifully.

Establish your brand early in the game

What is a brand? You may ask. From wikipedia, “A brand (or marque for car model) is a name, term, design, symbol, or other feature that distinguishes an organization or product from its rivals in the eyes of the customer. Brands are used in business, marketing, and advertising”. Also Investopedia gave the definition to be; “A distinguishing symbol, mark, logo, name, word, sentence or a combination of these items that companies use to distinguish their product from others in the market. Legal protection given to abrand name is called a trademark”.

Trump set his campaign message and goals early on the day of his announcement where he branded his campaign theme as “Make America Great Again”. Entrepreneurs must have solid brands at the start in other to hold solid ground in the market. There isn’t a one-size-fits-all solution, so strategize on how to position your brand in the target market and establish your industry early and quickly. Also, make your brand simple and easy to interpret just as “Young Leaders Arena” brand is. All thanks to our team for a job well done.
